Diallo K. Brooks is a visionary executive leader with over 25 years of expertise in nonprofit advocacy, civic engagement, and public policy reform. As the Founder and Principal Strategist of Civic Vision Strategies, he empowers organizations with transformative leadership development, innovative strategic initiatives, and equity-driven policy solutions that create lasting social change.


Throughout his distinguished career, Diallo has held pivotal leadership roles at the Schott Foundation for Public Education, People for the American Way, and The Education Trust, driving high-impact campaigns that advance racial equity, voting rights, public safety reform, and community engagement. His strategic vision and coalition-building expertise have strengthened grassroots movements and shaped national policy conversations.


Notably, as Senior Equity Fellow at the U.S. Department of Education, Diallo was instrumental in executing the department’s Equity Action Plan, ensuring grassroots advocates and policymakers collaborated to drive systemic change in education justice. His work fostered national dialogue, strengthened equity-driven policy frameworks, and created direct pathways for communities to shape federal decision-making.


A recognized thought leader and changemaker, Diallo spearheaded initiatives like the nationally celebrated “Defend the Black Vote” campaign, mobilizing millions of voters to protect democracy. His leadership also extends to philanthropy, where he has directed multimillion-dollar grantmaking efforts supporting grassroots racial and education justice organizations.


Diallo’s leadership philosophy is rooted in relationship-building, strategic collaboration, and action-driven solutions. His expertise spans public policy, organizational development, and strategic planning, underpinned by a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Shepherd University, with a minor in Broadcast Communications.

An engaging speaker, advocate, and media contributor, Diallo has been featured in national publications and media outlets, offering critical insights on racial justice, democracy, and public policy reform. His voice continues to shape thought leadership and mobilize communities toward a more equitable, inclusive future.


Diallo serves on the boards of the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation and Beacon House DC, where he provides strategic leadership to advance their missions. He previously served on the board of the Network for Public Education Action, further demonstrating his commitment to education justice and equity.
